In 1990 – following a decade of SMing theatre, my inauguration into the world of dance, was a whirlwind of touring with Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet. I followed that with the FRINGE Festival of Independent Dance Artists (48 companies representing every discipline).

I opened a huge performance studio (Damn Straight) which focussed on making dance productions affordable for the Indie community. Damn Straight produced dance performances, workshops, classes & housed rehearsals – with international guest artists & dancers from across Canada.

I have spent 25 years production managing and lighting Canadian dancers across five continents. I understand dancers’ needs - from studio to stage to international touring. I work regularly with organizations such as Dance Immersion, who produce work and opportunities for the black diaspora, and with many companies whose art forms are often dismissed as “cultural dance.”

My goal is to unite all of the dancers, from all of their disciplines across Canada, and to FILL a committee with dancers from every region, ensuring they are heard and UNDERSTOOD. I aim in this term, to bring unrepresented dance artists into the Association and to make our collective voices strong and loud.
