Scott Bellis has been re-elected by acclamation as Council President of Canadian Actors’ Equity Association. The Vancouver-based actor, director, will serve the Equity membership as president for a fifth two-year term.
“It's a true honour and a generous gesture of confidence from my Council colleagues to be reappointed as President,” said Scott. “We have seen incredible changes in the landscape of our national live arts community during my tenure. Helping to steer the Association is satisfying work, and I remain committed to leading Council in moving that work forward on behalf of our membership.”
Under Scott’s leadership, the Association has been forward-thinking and responsive to members’ needs – creating groundbreaking programs like Not in OUR Space!, demonstrating resilience through a global pandemic, and negotiating significant improvements through collective bargaining.
The election took place at the Council’s January 2026 meeting. The 23 members of Council form the leadership of Equity, representing the national interests of members from all regions and disciplines, and setting organizational goals for the Association over a three-year term.
