Equity is pleased to announce a successful conclusion to negotiations with Second City for a renewed three-year agreement of the Equity Second City Agreement (ESCA).
Improvements to the ESCA include a 14% increase in fees over the life of the agreement as well as increases for Creative Compensation, improved language around publicity and promotional appearances and mandatory rehearsal time for Understudies.
Ratification of the ESCA is scheduled for January 12 to 26, 2026 for all Equity members eligible to vote. A detailed explanation of the proposed changes is available here.
If ratified, the terms of the ESCA will come into effect immediately, retroactive to January 5, 2026.
