Equity Launches Safety Guide for Air Quality in the Workplace

Equity is pleased to announce the launch of Staying Safe Guidelines: Understanding the Impact of Air Quality in the Workplace, providing artists with information and tools to recognize, and address air quality-related dangers in the workplace. Created by Equity’s Physical Health & Safety Task Force (PHS), the Guide is the second in a series of best practices for Staying Safe in the Workplace. Click here to view other resources.

“Artists working at outdoor venues across the country are among those affected by the wildfires that are becoming ever more common,” said Task Force Co-Chair, Tim Machin. “And whether it’s wildfire smoke outside or a haze machine on stage, we want to help artists recognize risks and feel empowered to ask for support they need to keep everyone safe.”

To coincide with the Guide’s launch, an anonymous feedback form is available for members to share any stories about safety concerns in the workplace. The more Equity knows about the challenges our members face, the more we can do to address them. Click here to share your workplace safety feedback.

Equity members on the PHS Task Force and staff collaborated to create this guide. It’s based on experiences we’ve all had. Let us know if you find it helpful – or if we’ve missed anything. We appreciate and welcome corrections and additions. As our industry keeps changing, we will keep updating. You can let us know your thoughts by emailing communications@caea.com.

We want this guide to be for all of us – by all of us.
