Black History Month
Black History Month February is Black History Month! This time is an opportunity to spotlight the outstanding contributions of Black artists and enrich our knowledge of Black History.

Celebrate Black History Month by learning more about organizations working to support and promote Black artists and art across the country:

Nia Centre for the Arts — A Toronto-based not-for-profit organization that supports, showcases and promotes an appreciation of arts from across the African Diaspora.

The Black Arts Centre — An artist-run centre, cultural hub and community space owned and operated by Black youth in Surrey, BC, hosting exhibitions, performances, events, workshops and other diverse programming.

The Black Pledge — An open call for positive, lasting change in live arts spaces across Canada, fostering greater inclusion and awareness surrounding the needs of underserved communities in the Arts, especially the Black community.

CultureBrew.Art — A digital platform that promotes and fosters intersectional interculturalism throughout the performing, literary, and media arts, with a searchable database of Indigenous and racialized artists working in Canada.
