Equity is pleased to announce the appointment of Allan Teichman to Equity Council, as a representative of the Ontario region. A stage manager with nearly 40 years of experience at the Shaw Festival and around the country, Allan has previously served on Equity Council for 15 years, including 11 as President. He has been a valuable member of the Stage Management Committee for over 25 years as well as an active member of the Respectful Workplace Task Force throughout the past two terms. In 2020, he was presented Equity’s Larry McCance Award, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the Association and its members.

“’What, him again?!’ I know the feeling…”, says Teichman. “I also know what a crazy time the home stretch of the term can be, as Council drives to complete in-process projects before the next set of elections. I’m honoured to be asked to step in, and I look forward to joining with Council and staff colleagues old and new to be part of their very important work.”

Allan’s appointment comes following Omar Alex Khan's resignation, citing a need to focus on his work schedule.
