A Free National Comedy Program By Comedy Artists, For Comedy Artists
Cancom As a member of the live performing arts community, Equity is pleased to invite you to participate in the CANCOM Comedy Symposium, a new initiative funded by Heritage Canada. This new national Professional Development Program for Comedy Artists & Workers is completely FREE!

This is a unique opportunity to have a Canada wide platform for meaningful dialogue around the biggest concerns and questions that truly impact everyone in the comedy industry, no matter the stage of their career, with a goal of education and positive change.

Six 90-minute live-streamed events will take place live on comedy stages across Canada. Each event will feature comedian-inspired discussions and resources around the topics that impact everyone working in comedy in this country - no matter which genre & at every career stage.

The first session is scheduled for this Sunday (Oct 23rd) and is hosted by Andrea Jin. The focus is on Pay Culture and the ongoing issue of pay transparency, being pressured to work for little to no money or why basic fees for artists haven't changed in years.

Other upcoming events include:
• Star System & Digital Reach
• Touring & Showcasing
• Pro-Health/Anti-Opression/Anti-Competition
• IP & Branding
• Investment, Funding & Development

It is FREE to join these sessions (you have to become a CANCOM member first - also FREE) & you can watch from anywhere.

To attend, please register here.
