It is with profound sadness that Equity announces the passing of Lynn McQueen, Equity Projects Director.

Lynn began her career as an Equity stage manager in 1988 and was an active member of the Equity Stage Management Committee before joining Equity’s staff in 1998. In many ways, she followed in the footsteps of her father Jim, a prominent leader of the Ontario teachers' labour movement, fiercely advocating for the rights of Equity members as a Business Representative, Director of Communications, and most recently, Projects Director.

One might say Lynn was the caretaker of Equity’s institutional knowledge and the keeper of its history. But more than that, there was no one more dedicated to the Association and its members. She regularly attended live theatre, dance, and opera performances. She cared deeply about the arts, and for the many, many talented artists she felt privileged to work with, and on their behalf.

Lynn leaves behind her ever supportive and loving husband, Peter, her brother, Christopher, and the many friends and colleagues in Equity’s membership and staff that have always thought of her as family.
