Equity is pleased to announce a tentative deal has been reached for the Stratford Addendum to the Canadian Theatre Agreement (CTA). Ratification will commence May 16 for all Equity members eligible to vote on the proposed changes.
Members in good standing who worked under the terms of the previous Stratford Addendum or Stratford COVID Addendum should look for a ratification ballot in their email inbox as of the 16th. Information on this ratification vote, including a detailed explanation of the proposed material changes, is now available at

The deadline to vote is June 10, 2022 at noon ET.
A number of substantial improvements were negotiated in the areas of protection, inclusiveness, finance, work-life balance, and digital media rights. A meeting with eligible voters to discuss the proposed changes will be hosted by Executive Director Arden R. Ryshpan and Business Representative Manager – Theatre Agreements, Margaret Thompson, via Zoom on Wednesday, May 25 at 7:00 p.m. ET.
Pending a successful ratification, the Stratford Addendum will take effect immediately, retroactive to January 1, 2022, and expire November 30, 2024.
Negotiations took place between December 1, 2021 and April 19, 2022, and specific language in the agreement was confirmed April 27, 2022.
