    Equity congratulates Pablo Rodríguez on his appointment as new Canadian Heritage Minister
    Canadian Actors’ Equity Association (Equity) welcomes the Honourable Pablo Rodríguez to his new role as Minister of Canadian Heritage, serving as the point person on many of the critical issues that have a profound effect on the working lives of Canadians engaged in live performance.

    “These are crucial times, for our members, our industry, and culture in our country,” says Equity Executive Director, Arden R. Ryshpan. “The Honourable Pablo Rodríguez brings a wealth of experience to the table, having already held the Heritage portfolio as recently as 2019. We look forward to working closely with him to face the unique challenge of putting the pandemic behind us and revitalizing the live performance sector in Canada.”

    “We would also like to thank the Honourable Steven Guilbeault for his efforts in protecting Canada’s cultural sector while he served as Minister of Canadian Heritage, particularly during this most recent difficult period,” added Ryshpan. “We wish him success in his new role as Minister of Environment.”
