Equity is pleased to announce the launch of a new Emerging Artist Auditions pilot project, designed to highlight members who have joined the Association within the last five years.
Recognizing that being a newer Equity member can present an additional challenge to securing auditions, this initiative will create an opportunity for those artists to be seen by member directors who do not typically participate in general auditions.
The pilot project will take place in January 2027 in Vancouver and Toronto, where Equity has the largest pools of members who joined the Association within the last five years. Based on the success of the pilot, similar auditions could be offered in other regions to meet local needs.
Invitations to apply will be sent in the coming days to eligible members in the B.C. & Yukon and Ontario regions.
We anticipate more interest than there are available audition spots. Candidates will be selected by random draw, with priority given to members in their final year of eligibility and consideration for demographic representation.
