Equity members are highly skilled professional artists working across Canada’s live performance sector — including Actors, Dancers, Singers, Directors, Fight Directors, Intimacy Directors, and Stage Managers.
Whatever your production, Equity members can help bring it to life.
Under both Equity’s agreements and provincial law, Engagers are responsible for providing and maintaining workplaces that are safe and respectful for everyone.
Engagers must also ensure workers can raise concerns without fear of reprisal and that all health and safety concerns or reports of inappropriate workplace behaviour are addressed promptly and appropriately.
An Equity Business Rep is an Engager’s point of contact at the Association.
Each Engager is assigned an Equity Business Rep to help ensure the terms of agreements and engagement policies are followed. They support artists under contract and assist Engagers throughout the engagement process.

eDrive is Equity’s job board and email list, used to share paid work opportunities in the Canadian live performance industry. It reaches nearly 11,000 artists across the country — both Equity members and non-members.
Engagers can post notices for auditions, stage management positions, or other industry related paid work opportunities.
Equity can provide contact information for members who have opted into availability lists. To request a list, please email your Business Rep with the details of what you are looking for, including region(s) and discipline(s).
Equity’s collective agreements are negotiated to establish the terms and conditions for professional artists working in theatre, dance, and opera productions in Canada.
For independent, smaller-scale, or artist-driven work, our engagement policies offer flexible options while maintaining professional standards.
