Casting Breakdown
We are looking for submissions for Song Liling: Asian, 20's-30's: a male-identifying Chinese opera singer and spy who specializes in dan (female) roles in Peking Opera. Song poses as a woman for over 20 years to continue a relationship with the French Diplomat Rene Gallimard, exploiting Gallimard's fantasy vision of "submissive, exotic sexuality". Role requires singing (tenor/ countertenor), strong movement skills (Peking Opera), and nudity.

M Butterfly by David Henry Hwang will be produced site-specifically as part of our Barrie season, and directed by Esther Jun.
