Audition Information & Submission Instructions
The Capitol Theatre will be holding General Auditions on Wednesday, September 23 and Thursday, September 24 in Toronto, and Friday, September 25 in Toronto and Port Hope. The purpose of General Auditions is for us to meet artists who we may not have seen before. Please do not submit if you’ve auditioned for or worked with Rob Kempson, Artistic Director in the last three years. General auditions are by invitation only and will only occur on the days listed. Please do not submit if your availability won’t allow you to attend the auditions. No self-tapes will be accepted for our Generals. Please send your headshot, resume, and a short cover letter expressing your interest in working at the Capitol. Please specify whether you are seeking a musical or non-musical audition. Electronic submissions only. No phone calls please. Email auditions@capitoltheatre.com with the subject line “General Auditions 2026” and be sure to include your preference of audition location (Toronto or Port Hope). All submissions must be received by September 14, 2026. Early submissions are encouraged. All spaces at the Capitol Theatre Port Hope are fully accessible, as is the audition location for the Toronto auditions. Performers with access needs are welcome to submit and encouraged to share how we can make the audition process easier for them to participate.
