Equity members in the Alberta North & NWT region will soon receive a direct email invitation to this meeting, including a Zoom registration link.
This year's Regional AGM will be taking place on Zoom, enabling members from all over our region to participate. We might just shatter attendance records! But more importantly, it'll be a chance to see new faces and hear new voices in addition to those already familiar to you.
Another reason for anticipation is that Equity Council President Scott Bellis will be our special guest. In addition to doing a great job leading Council, he's a lovely, affable fellow, and he's looking forward to meeting members from the Northwest Territories and Northern Alberta, and to taking any questions you might have. Given everything that's happened in the world and to our industry this past year, as well as the uncertainties ahead of us, I'm sure you'll have many.
This is also an election year for Council, and while the nomination and voting periods are still months away, we'll be striking a committee to encourage members to stand as candidates to represent our region. If you're already interested in running this fall, this meeting will provide you an opportunity to familiarize yourself with Council, regional issues, and the nomination process.
We'll also spend some time discussing issues that are important to you, so I encourage you to bring your concerns to the meeting, or even to contact me in advance at IanL@caea.com if you want to make double sure they're discussed.
