Proposed changes for the recently negotiated 2021-2024 Canadian Theatre Agreement (CTA) between Equity and the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres (PACT) were ratified by the eligible Equity membership. The vote concluded on Thursday, December 17, 2020.
Ratification of the 2021-2024 CTA
Members voted 93.4% in support of the proposed changes. A total of 3831 voters were eligible to vote and 1150 Equity members cast a ballot. The voting return rate was 30%.
Ratification of the COVID-19 Addendum to the CTA
Members voted 96.5% in support of the proposed changes. A total of 3831 voters were eligible to vote and 1136 Equity members cast a ballot. The voting return rate was 29.7%
Equity and PACT have agreed to a three-and-a-half-year agreement, with financial increases of 1% as of January 11, 2021, 1.75% for year-2 starting on June 28, 2021, 2% for year-3 starting on June 27, 2022, and 2% for year-4 starting on June 26, 2023 apply to all minimum fees and other monetary amounts.
Pending PACT's ratification of these same Agreements in early January, the ratified changes will come into effect on January 11, 2021 and the Agreement will expire on June 28, 2024.
