2012 Honours Awards
The nomination deadline for the 2012 Life Membership Award, Larry McCance Award, Honorary Membership & the CAEA Award of Distinction is May, 1, 2012.

2011 Honours Awards
Acclaimed Calgary-based director Joyce Doolittle and Edmonton performer and director Thomas Peacocke will both receive Life Membership in the Association in October 2011. Long-time Saskatchewan theatre supporters Don and Della Greer will each receive Honorary Membership in Equity, and former six-term Councillor and Council treasurer Sandy Winsby will be honoured with the Larry McCance Award at the celebration will be presented on October 24th in St. John's, Newfoundland.
2011 will also mark the inaugural presentation of the CAEA Award of Excellence, which will be presented to the Dancer Transition Resource Centre, a national organization dedicated to assisting dancers transitioning into, within, and from professional performing careers.

2011 Stage West - Equity Emerging Theatre Artist Award
Equity will once again award one of its emerging members with a cheque for $2,000 in recognition of their professionalism, artistic excellence and innovation. The award will be given to a performing artist in theatre or musical theatre who has been a member of the Association for less than three years. This year's the Stage West - Equity Emerging Theatre Artist Award will be presented on October 24th in St. John's, Newfoundland.

Past Honours Award Recipients

2010 Honours Awards

Elsa Bolam and performer Grant Reddick were presented with Life Membership in Equity in recognition of their extraordinary careers in the performing arts at the Hotel Arts in Calgary, Alberta on October 25, 2010.
The recipient of the Larry McCance Award was former Equity Executive Director Susan E. Wallace (Toronto, Ontario) in recognition of her distinguished service to the Association and its members.
Dedicated arts supporter and advisor Frank Glenfield (Edmonton, Alberta) was this year's recipient of Honorary Membership in Equity.
The 2010 Stage West - Equity Emerging Theatre Artist Award winner was Bethany Jillard of Toronto, Ontario. The Award and its $2,000 cash prize was initiated in celebration of Equitys silver anniversary in 2001, and recognizes an Equity member of three years or less who has already made a significant contribution and impression as an artist. Bethany is a multitalented performer with considerable energy and drive for artistic exploration. Her work in Toronto and Stratford has already distinguished her as a hard-working and devoted young actor.

2009 Stage West-Equity Emerging Theatre Artist Award
Donna Soares of Vancouver, B.C. was the 2009 Award winner. The Award, and its $2,000 cash prize, is sponsored by Stage West Theatre Restaurants and recognizes an Equity member of three years or less who has made a significant contribution and impression as an artist.

2009 Honours Awards
Equity honoured director Martha Henry and stage manager Nora Polley (Life Membership), actor Barbara Gordon (Larry McCance Award) and scenographer Susan Benson (Honorary Membership) on November 30th at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto, Ontario.

2008 Honours Awards
Equity honoured Life Members Lloy Coutts (posthumous) & Bernard Hopkins, Honorary Member Derrick Chua, Larry McCance Award winner Louis-Marie Bournival (at left) and Stage-West Equity Theatre Artist Award winner Kawa Ada in Vancouver on November 2nd, 2008.
