A recent change to Article 110 of Equity's Bylaws reduces the term length of Council’s four officer positions from three years to two. This change has prompted questions from some members.
Equity members are asked not to cross IATSE 58's (Toronto Stagehands local) picket line to attend the Canadian National Exhibition or any other venue or event on the Exhibition grounds.
Updates to Equity's online fee calculators for the 2018-2019 Canadian Theatre Agreement (CTA) and the Independent Theatre Agreement (ITA) are complete. The calculators determine applicable dues and benefit deductions, agent's commission (if applicable), additional service fees, HST/GST, and fees paid to the artist.
Media is reporting that the civil lawsuits against Equity member Albert Schultz and Soulpepper Theatre have been resolved outside of court.
The DOT Policy has been extended to Sunday, December 9, 2018. Minimum fees and other monetary amounts will increase by 1% (rounded up to the next dollar) as of September 3, 2018 for the 2018-2019 period (September 3, 2018 to September 8, 2019).

Equity will roll over the Independent Theatre Agreement as of Monday, June 25, 2018
to June 23, 2019 with financial increases. Select changes will come into effect as of September 3, 2018. More information is available here
A one-year rollover of the current Canadian Theatre Agreement with a financial increase, as negotiated between Equity and the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres, was ratified by the eligible Equity membership. Financial increases will be in effect Monday, June 25, 2018
to June 23, 2019.

This new short duration and multi-engagement dance policy, is now available for use by Equity members. It is designed to support the engagement of dance artists working in a diverse range of practices for short-duration performances and activities. The OPEN
offers flexibility, rehearsal, break and performance day limits and other artist protections.
Equity is pleased to announce a new member service intended to speed up insurance claim response times. Beginning April 21, Equity's insurance provider will accept member claim submissions by email.
